Gillette Castle State Park
After the forum at the Naval War College in early June 2011, I drove to Middletown, CT to visit Carolyn. She, Kris and I visited the Gillette Castle State Park. The original owner, William Gilllette, was an actor famous for playing the role of Sherlock Holmes. The castle construction and woodwork are indeed unique. The photos speak for themselves.
We had to cross the Connecticut River by ferry to get to the castle - this is the view from the castle.
