Before Arriving in Bonaire
On our last trip to Bonaire, in January 2015, we were presented with a certificate and medals as recognition of our having visited the island ten consecutive years. Over the last few weeks Linda has been working on a suitable frame consisting of Bonaire driftwood, including the piece resembling an eel. The bottom part of the frame is from one of Linda's father's Model-T's. The circular tags are the yearly Stinapa Park tags. The background photo is one that I took on one of our early trips to Bonaire.
Based on previous experience of nearly missing the infrequent flight to Bonaire, we recently have been flying to Atlanta the day before the Bonaire flight. On Friday, Feb 26 we packed our camera cases and dive equipment bags. We use a luggage scale to keep the dive bags under 50 lbs. We each stuff about 2 pounds of clothes into a plastic bag that go in the dive bags. At check-in we weighed in at 49.5 pounds. After packing we loaded our bags into the trunk of the Benz and drove to Indianapolis Airport. For the last six years we have been taking the 9:30 am to 1:30 pm flight (Delta). We also have been staying at the Embassy Suites near the Airport. After a nice dinner in the recently remodelled hotel we chatted with our good friend Eunice - the bartender at the hotel. Eunice and Linda posed for this photo with our pony Toby who magically appeared.
