Cast of characters: banded butterfly fish, sponge that looks a bit like a gorilla, juvenile spotted drum, anemone, tarpon and finally a "hunting party" with a sharp tail eel, hogfish, goat fish and jack. We often see these groups, it appears the eel will root around looking for something to eat and the fish stand guard and hopefully get a snack. Here

It is a veritable "aquarium" there to snack on the remains of a barracuda, including some pretty good sized fire worms. Next is a tarpon with a hook and line in its gill. From the amount of algae on the line, it has probably been there a while.......a cute puffer fish, golden tail eel that decided to swim right underneath me, curious angel fish that just could not resist the camera and finally a baby octopus hiding in a coral head. Alex and a friendly tarpon. The next shot is a burr fish and the same fish about 40 minutes later, apparently it was scared by something and "ballooned" itself. A couple of cleaner shrimp checking out my finger and a reef scene. A Bermuda Chub hanging out under a sail boat and a trumpet fish in rope sponge. From a distance they blend into the sponges perfectly. A school of blue creole wrasse and a coral beauty angel fish poking around. The lavender vase sponge is quite beautiful. The next two shots are of the same cow fish, but she turned blue after being chased by a smaller male! Finally a yellow tail grunt just hanging out. Here

Alex and I enjoy an extremely friendly puffer fish at Cha Cha beach. Next is a little blenny - the eyes are fun to watch! A large scorpion fish followed by a spotted moray eel. About a 2 inch baby flounder is almost invisible in the sand, and a coral head cave makes a nice back drop to banded butterfly fish. We found an ill eel that was lying pretty limp and lifeless while quite a few fish started gathering around waiting for its demise. Finally Alex does his part to pick up reef trash! Here

Not many critters in this one. An octopus-master of camouflage, a "bait ball" under the dock, a sweet green turtle and, though from a distance, an elegant eagle ray. Here
