We started our trip on Friday, Jan 10, flying out of Indianapolis around noon and spending the night in Atlanta before the next day's morning direct flight to Bonaire. On our last trip, in July 2013, we nearly missed our Bonaire flight because our flight from Indianapolis to Atlanta for that day was delayed so we have decided to fly to Atlanta the day before from now on.

There were severe winds and storms in Atlanta on Saturday, Jan 11, that started up around 7:30 am - our flight was scheduled for 9:45 am. The storms cleared up around 9:00 am and our plane, Delta 663, left the gate on time, but because of the huge backup of planes, we did not take off until 90 minutes later. There were at least 50 empty seats on our flight since many incoming connecting flights were delayed due to the storms.

The flight was uneventful and we landed about 90 minutes late to a sunny and warm Bonaire. We picked up our small rental pick-up truck, checked in with the Bellafonte Chateau management and went to the super market to pick up some groceries. After that we went out for dinner to Pasa Bon Pizza to see our good friend, Joe Pilarz, who owns the restaurant along with his partner.
